Please join us in congratulating Providence Centralia Hospital on earning the Pathway to Excellence (PTE) designation, awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) on March 14th, 2018. Clinical nurses and leaders from Providence Centralia have been working to achieve the PTE designation since 2011, with the formal application submitted in November 2016 followed by document submission one year later. To document nursing excellence at Providence Centralia, leaders and clinical nurses alike worked to gather information and write to the 6 standards required for PTE designation, for a final document that was over 500 pages in length!
Once Providence Centralia’s documents were submitted, the final step in the designation process was completion of an anonymous nurse survey. Although only 60% of eligible nurses were required to participate in the survey for PTE designation purposes, Providence Centralia had an over 75% response rate with a 93% approval rating from nurses. A team from Providence Centralia attended the Pathways to Excellence conference in Florida on May 2nd to formally receive the designation which is effective for 4 years.
